Very comfortable cabin with everything well thought out and well provided for - even down to the garlic press. Jayne was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and there were abundant red squirrels in the woods, even a webcam where could could watch a blue tit nest box. There are a number of cameras set up to watch on the TV screen.
A comprehensive information book was provided which had lots of details about things to do. There are multiple walks in the local area and boat trips on Sunart or out to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles.
We hope to return as we really enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic cabin - spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lots of little extras are supplied - toiletries etc
Wonderful location with beautiful scenery and lots of fabulous local walks. Also a perfect base for exploring further afield if required.
Jayne and Andrew are the perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble and they are very informative about the local area. Maps, walks and lots of tourist information is supplied in the cabin.
That was our fifth visit and we cannot wait to return later in the year.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough.
Regular guests at mingarry and always made to feel very welcome and special, jayne & Andrew go the extra mile to provide everything you would need in their beautiful lodges, love the wildlife, the scenery and the peaceful surroundings. Always feel sad to leave but know we'll be back again. Standards very high and so comfortable to come back to after day out walking, thank you for another wonderful stay.
My husband and I enjoyed a great week in Tooting Lodge in early October. The lodge is really well equipped for self catering, and is very clean and comfortable and in a lovely woodland setting. The attention to detail in the lodge is fantastic as is the information contained in the folders for both the lodge and surrounding area. Jayne provided a warm welcome and gave us a few pointers for our stay of things to do based on our interests.
If we revisit Ardnamurchan we would have no hesitation re booking here.
What can we say? Such a lovely place to relax with so much comfort! Jayne and Andrew are fantastic hosts, the lodges are very cosy for a longer stay. Everything was taken care of, we didn't miss anything. We look forward to next year when we will return.
We had a wonderful week at Tooting Lodge. The location is very peaceful, ideal for spotting wildlife and a great place to escape to for relaxation. It was a fantastic base to explore Ardnamurchan, Morvern and surrounding areas.
The kitchen was very well equipped and the welcome items were great to have. The dining/living areas were really comfortable and even with 4 of us staying, felt spacious. The bedrooms were perfect for a restful sleep with warm bedding and plenty of storage space for clothes. It was great to have both a shower room and bathroom.
The lodge was 'sparkling' clean.
The maps and information folder were well used by us and helped us to choose what to do each day - there is so much to explore. I think we'll have to return to visit the places that we couldn't fit in!
Lovely lodges in a peaceful setting. Local walks and also good location for exploring further afield.
We stayed for 6 days and nights at Mingarry Lodge and were just blown away by the accommodation, wildlife set up and our wonderful hosts!
We have travelled widely and this is one of the most thoughtful and comprehensive accommodations we have stayed in. The hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need for a stay.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable with upstairs bedroooms and bathroom, laundary room and the shower and toilet downstairs was a bonus. The lounge, dining room and kitchen spacious and thoughtfully equipped.
The lodge and local information folders are meticulously compiled and easily accessedThe lodge is well located close to local attractions and walks but centrally located for trips further afield. We headed in all directions finding beautiful coastal scenery, historical ruins and places of interest. The scenery is spectacular with stunning lochs and wildlife!
The wildlife cameras pick up an array of birds and interesting characters around the lodge and we were really lucky to see an owl on several occasions. Further afield we saw eagles and sea otter! Give yourself a great stay and try these lodges, you won't regret it!
The warm and cosy lodge was in pristine condition, exceptionally well equipped and decorated in a charming ‘cabin chic’ style. It is in a delightful location, in the heart of the territories of red squirrel, pine marten and badger, which we were able to see several times during our stay. The friendly and helpful owners had provided a comprehensive folder of local information, an excellent range of maps and guides and were also available to offer advice about the latest wildlife sightings, updates about the effect of the weather on trips etc. It is one of the very best self catering properties we have ever used.
Every comfort was provided at this excellent Lodge. This was our fourth visit and every bit as enjoyable as the previous visits. Highly recommended.
The lodges are extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard as are the rest of the rooms, The 'extras' that are provided are a very thoughtful touch, and greatly appreciated.
I have stayed in many other self catering units, but nothing compares to this lodge, and the location is superb.
Another nice touch was the welcome by Jayne, one of the owners and there advuice on areas to visit during my stay.
Thank you.
Another fantastic week at Tooting Lodge. The lodge, as before, was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. There is so much to do and see in this beautiful area, and the wildlife is amazing.
We had another brilliant stay at Hooting Lodge.
Lovely lodge, great facilities and lots of wildlife encounters
The lodge is located in a large natural garden with woods to the rear and walks all around. It is one of 2 lodges with the owner’s property tucked back up the path.
Its owners are environmentally friendly and love nature so they have set the lodge up to maximise good practice for minimal impact on the environment but also managing to make it so very cosy and comfortable. There are lots of added extras and the welcome tray is high quality and the best I have had on my travels. The beds are lovely.
There is ample opportunity to see wildlife with cameras to view in the lodge itself. Jayne and Andrew are knowledgeable on nature and the area and offer information on where to go to see all of the animals and birds and woodlands and lochs that will give you the best break. I am not one to stay somewhere more than once but I have travelled 3 times to this amazing lodge and had a memorable holiday each time.
Ardnamurchan is a great area to visit if you want fresh air and wildlife.
We had a fantastic holiday in this lodge. It was understated luxury with everything we needed. Attention to detail was exceptional and a huge amount of effort had gone into making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed ourselves. Great location for wildlife viewing. We would love to visit again.
Once again we had an outstanding time, blessed with good weather too. Wayne and Andrew are the perfect hosts.
Thanks to Jayne for providing a very comfortable and relaxing stay; great place to get away from it all. Thanks.
Lovely peaceful location with plenty to see and do, epscially if you love the wildlife in the area. Jane and Andrew put a lot of dedication into making this location so special for there customers.
This is probably the 4th or 5th time I've stayed at Mingarry Lodges now, still it will not be my last. Jayne and Andrew put in so much time and effort, not just for the people staying in the lodges, but for the wildlife around too. You will be treated to live video feeds of numerous birds and mamals during your stay, with up close encounters through the windows too.
The lodges are always clean, well laid out, warm and comfortable. Necessities are provided and there is a small shop just a few minutes drive down the road (if you don't fancy the drive to Fort William).
The surrounding areas are stunning with multiple walks and places to sit and relax (don't forget the Smidge). It is an easy drive from Castle Tioram, the Garbh Eilean Wildlife Hide and two ferry terminals to the Isle of Mull.
If you love watching wildlife in an unspoiled habitat, and need to escape the "busy life" for a while, then look no further.
Another amazing week at Mingarry lodges. We have stayed several times before and just love the scenery and wildlife to be found in the area. The lodges are so well equipped and comfortable. Thank you again Jayne and Andrew for a wonderful holiday.
